Are you Accepting New Patients?

Yes!

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I am contracted with the following insurance companies. All plans vary in their coverage, even within the same company, so I recommend using the form provided through this link to understand your benefits better: Printable Insurance Verification Form

  • CHP/Kaiser - I cannot accept Medicare or Medicaid plans

  • Pacific Source - Includes Medicare and Medicaid plans

  • Providence - Includes Medicare and Medicaid plans

  • Regence Blue Cross of Oregon - Includes Medicare plans that offer Naturopathic coverage

  • United Health Care - Craniosacral Therapy treatment is not covered; however, our office visits and evaluation are covered. Most UHC Medicare plans exclude naturopathic benefits.

While I am not contracted with the following plans, out-of-network coverage is available for the following plans:

  • CareOregon

    • An approved prior authorization will be needed from your referring provider before craniosacral therapy can be covered. Request approval for osteopathic manipulation therapy codes: 98925-98929

  • OHSU Community Health

    • An approved prior authorization will be needed from your referring provider before craniosacral therapy can be covered. Request approval for osteopathic manipulation therapy codes: 98925-98929

  • Car insurance - for issues directly resulting from a car accident.

    • No prior authorization or referral is needed, but an open personal injury claim with the claim number and contact information will be needed to verify coverage.

I cannot accept

  • Workman’s Compensation

  • VA benefits

  • Medicare except for the supplemental plans outlined above.

  • Moda - I am not a contracted provider and this plan does not offer out-of-network coverage for naturopathic medicine.

Does insurance cover your services?

Care for a medical diagnosis:

Yes. If your health insurance plan provides naturopathic medical coverage, our visits will be covered according to your plan. The exception is United Health Care, which does not cover craniosacral therapy but will cover naturopathic medical care.

Our visits will include an office visit code which will be covered if you have naturopathic benefits. For visits that include craniosacral therapy, this is an added service that may or may not be eligible for insurance coverage.

Examples of conditions for which craniosacral therapy is usually covered by medical insurance include:

  • Headaches

  • Neck pain and dysfunction

  • Back pain and dysfunction

  • Pain and dysfunction of a joint

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Concussion recovery

  • Nerve compression

  • Muscle spasms

General comfort and wellness care:

Medical insurance covers treating medical conditions but not wellness or comfort care. If you are seeking care not for the treatment or prevention of a specific medical diagnosis but to improve your overall state of being, naturopathic medicine and craniosacral therapy can be wonderful tools. However, this type of care is not eligible for insurance coverage.

Late Cancellation/No Show Fees:

Insurance does not cover the cost of late cancellation or no-show fees. I require a minimum of 12 hours of prior notice for all scheduling changes. Visits canceled or unattended with fewer than 12 hours or prior notice will be charged to your card on file at the original visit time.

  • New patient visit: $224.30 (equivalent to code 99205)

  • Follow-up visit: $184.51 (equivalent to code 99215)

Patients who find themselves in a situation where they frequently must cancel their visits last minute (3 times within 6 months) will be offered places on my waitlist schedule to be notified 12-24 hours in advance of potential appointment openings.

You can cancel by phone at (971) 409-8770, using the ChARM portal message, or by texting (971) 231-2412. This is the same number from which you receive appointment confirmation and reminder texts.

What are your rates?

I charge current Medicare rates for all services. Each visit is billed by complexity according to established AMA definitions. Craniosacral therapy treatment is then added to this visit charge. The time allotments per visit code include checking in, answering questions, updating treatment plans, physical exams, and other evaluations but do not include the time we spend in craniosacral therapy treatment.

My rates are the same with or without insurance. For non-covered services, I offer a sliding scale discount. This does not include copays, coinsurance, or deductibles, as the insurance companies discount my rates according to our contracts.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, depending on your financial situation, I currently offer a 0%-50% discount on services not covered by insurance. Copays, coinsurance, and deductibles are not eligible for the sliding scale.

Herbs & Hands Sliding Scale Application

Do you offer virtual visits?

No, I offer in-person visits only due to the nature of my work.

Do you work with children?

Yes, I offer craniosacral therapy for children aged five and up; however, I do not specialize in the treatment of children and recommend working with a naturopathic doctor specializing in caring for children for naturopathic care. Also, due to the limitations of my current training and shared space, I am not set up to provide treatment for medically fragile children or children who experience difficulty with behavior in social situations such as doctor visits.

Do you sell supplements or herbs?

I provide access to an online prescription-based supplement site called FullScript for supplement needs. Those who qualify for a sliding scale discount will also receive a discount on their FullScript orders; this discount caps at 35%.

I encourage people to purchase dried herbs for tea from their local herb stores, farms, herbalists (check your local farmer’s market), or natural grocery stores when possible. There are also larger farms that ship their orders across Oregon, such as Oshala Farms. Lastly, larger herb suppliers order herbs from around the globe, such as Pacific Botanicals or Mountain Rose Herbs.

I discourage people from purchasing supplements or herbs from large online sites with multiple independent sellers, as there have been documented issues with counterfeit products on these sites. Think of it like purchasing medications; you want to do this through a reputable distributor like a pharmacy, not out of the trunk of someone’s car.

Can I list you as my primary care provider?

No, I do not work with the support staff needed to provide complete primary care services. You will need a primary care provider to manage the medical aspects of your care when I am unavailable and when I am not the right fit for your current situation. Additionally, I am not registered as a primary care provider with any medical plan. I would love to coordinate care with your PCP and other healthcare team members to help you receive the best care possible.

I offer complementary and alternative support care to help your overall health over the long-term.
